Hollie Overton is an experienced TV writer currently working on the second season of Freeform’s “Shadowhunters.” She previously wrote for two seasons of Lifetime’s “The Client List,” and the final season of the CBS drama, “Cold Case.” A native of Kingsville, Texas, Hollie made her way to the Big Apple, where she studied acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Literature at Hunter College and mixology in Murray Hill.
Convinced her talents lay in telling stories; Hollie set her sights on Hollywood. In 2008 Hollie was selected for the esteemed Warner Brother Writers Workshop. Her debut novel, Baby Doll was published in July 2016 and is an international best-seller. Hollie is repped by MetaMorphic Entertainment and WME.
Overton’s first novel was Baby Doll, was a psychological thriller about what happens to a woman after she escapes the basement where she’s been held as a sex slave for eight years. Baby Doll chronicled the impact of her abduction and return on her family. It’s all more mesmerizing because the kidnapped girl has a twin sister.
Overton has followed up Baby Doll with THE WALLS. Kristy Tucker is a single mom who does public relations for the prison. She interviews inmates on death row and chronicles their executions. It was supposed to be a temporary job but being a single mom, it ends up becoming her career.
When she meets Lance Dobson, her son’s martial arts instructor, it seems like she’s finally found her reward for her steadfastness and devotion.

Instead she becomes an abused wife. An abused wife who can’t get help from the authorities even though she is a corrections officer herself.
